The average global robot density is about 69 industrial robots installed per 10,000 employees in the manufacturing industry in 2015. The most automated markets are the Korea, Singapore, Japan and Germany. Korea has by far the highest robot density in the manufacturing industry at 531 industrial robots per 10,000 employees in 2015.

The biggest benefits of the automation in that it save labour. Besides reducing energy and material usage, it also improves quality, accuracy, and precision of outputs. However, concerns of high initial investment, employees' upskill training and potential retrenchment may hinder implementation of automation in factories.
